Alcohol harm reduction, relapse prevention, peer support, advcie and information for all Brighton & Hove LGBT people concerned about their alcohol use/abuse. GOAL run facilitated recovery groups using a cognitive-behavioural model. We are trying to raise awareness of alcohol services, treatment and aftercare options...when you engage with GOAL your sexual orientation will be regarded as normal...not as another 'problem'. We work closely with other substance misuse agencies in the city but retain our independence. You can talk to us in confidence that your personal information will not be shared without your explicit consent.
GOAL is working with GASP UK to develop a national Fedration of Independent Peer Based Alcohol Support Services (FIPBASS) to campaign for and support the provision of diverse recovery groups across the UK. The provision of dedicated LGBT peer support will be a qualification for membership. If you belong to, or know of, an organisation that would like to become a founder member of FIPBASS please get in touch.
